This weekend was quite a change of pace, as I got out of the city for a couple of days to head down to Virginia for a good friend’s wedding! Although we were only gone for 48 hours (16 of which were spent in the car) it was nice to sit in the grass, see the stars, and catch up with some old friends.
The ceremony was held at sunset on the Kingston Plantation in Mathews, Virginia. The evening was fun and casual, with guests wearing plaid flannel and seated on bales of hay for the ceremony. Between the ceremony and reception we took a few group photos, including one featuring all of the alumni from our university in attendance– over 50! Afterwards we dined on a southern feast of roasted pork, mac & cheese, and baked beans, and tons of desserts. A roaring bonfire and dancing to some favorite songs capped off the night.
The wedding was a great time, and although tiring, the drive down with friends in a big rented van was fun as well. Plans for this week include our first bocceball league game and a visit to the new Harmon’s they opened a few blocks away. With Bed Bath & Beyond seeming to get their hands on limited edition makeup collections first lately, I’m hoping this new Harmon’s will follow suit. Crossing my fingers that some of the new drugstore items will be there, as my matte-loving heart is melting over the matte Maybelline Color Tattoos and matte Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains. Hopefully I’ll be able to get my hands on some!
